Thiess wins $203m of eastern states work

Leighton Holdings subsidiary Thiess Services has secured a bundle of new waste contracts worth a total $203 million.

The contracts are a mix of new work and extensions on behalf of local governments stretching from Mackay in Queensland to Wollongong in New South Wales and Cardinia in Victoria.

Thiess managing director David Saxelby said the contracts were further evidence of Thiess Services’ ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients.

Leighton also said that Thiess had sold a five per cent stake in Burton Coal Mine to Peabody Energy for $35 million.
